CDG studio stripped down an existing workers’ house down to its compact original footprint. This approach gave them a blank slate for new architectural interventions.

They chose to add an extra floor as a crown to the house, creating a light-filled space to accomodate a studio. The roof on top is fully utilized as a rooftop terrace, giving a glimpse of a picturesque church in the neighbourhood.

The kitchen was placed viewing the garden of the house. A visual play of a central column and a canopy define the outlines of the rear facade.
